Are Vegetables Allowed in Flight?

That’s a big question that comes in everyone’s mind whenever they plan to travel through flight. The simple answer is “Yes, you can.” To an extent, you can carry food items on a flight. This food can contain only dried or fried vegetables. Liquid, curried and oily vegetables are not allowed. Along with food, water is also allowed but only up to 100 ml. You can bring all kinds of food unless it is not dripping or messy.

What are the restrictions on bringing packed food items on domestic flights?

Cooked and packaged food is prohibited in hand luggage unless it is less than 100ml and properly packed in a plastic bag. Wet or liquid foods, cooked meals, are not allowed in the flights. The rules may differ based on which airlines you’re traveling. They might have different guidelines. You should check those guidelines too.

Yes, the solid or dried spices are allowed in both domestic and international flights.. But it is important to pack these spices in airtight containers or plastic bags. You can carry to other countries like the USA, Canada etc. However, it is necessary to read the latest guidelines.

Spices like garam masala or sambar powder are being carried mostly by the travelers. Packing them in a plastic bag will ensure that it does not spill all over your luggage.

Can you carry groceries in the check in luggage while going to the USA?

Yes you can. But there is a limit. You can bring solid foods like in both your carry-on and checked bags. You can also bring food items like rice, lentils, fruits, vegetables, frozen food, etc. but with special instructions. 

But you need to be sure they will be used for personal consumption and not for commercial purposes.
